How To Lose Weight For The New Year

We all know how hard it can be to stick to your new year’s resolution with weight loss. We also know how difficult it can be to even try to lose weight heading into the new year. If you are thinking of heading into the new year sweating off of all of the alcohol, chocolate and other sugary sweets that you were eating over the holidays, we can help you. Here are 5 ways that you can lose weight and keep your new year’s resolution heading into next year. 


  1. Create Obtainable Goals


A great way to start this process is to think about what you would want to accomplish as far as losing the weight that you would like to. The process always starts with thinking about the goal, write down the foods you need, the exercises you need to do, how often you need to exercise and the date of when you like to obtain that goal by. For each goal, write down the steps and how you will get closer each day to achieving your goal.  


  1. Get A Planner


As said above, taking the necessary steps to obtain your goal is VERY crucial. One of those steps is to keep a daily or weekly planner as a reminder for you. This will keep you on the path to exercising, eating right and making wise decisions each and every day. You can also Include healthy recipes for you to cook, exercises you plan to do, etc. The planner will assist you in staying on track for you to obtain your goal and lose the weight that you need to lose. 



  1. Meal Prep for the Week


Take the time to prepare your healthy meals at the beginning of each week for you to stick to. Research has shown that meal prepping and choosing what you’ll need to eat ahead time is setting yourself up for an 85% positive successful goal met.  

It is okay if you don’t know how to cook many meals, there are plenty of healthy dishes that don’t require much of you to prepare. You also do not need many kitchen tools to cook healthy meals. Only the basic kitchen tools are needed like; measuring cups and spoons, a kitchen knife, cutting boards, pots and pans, a blender, wooden cooking spoons, and a spatula will do.  


  1. Exercise Regularly


Exercise and eating go hand in hand. The more you exercise, the more fuel your body will need, and thus the healthier you eat, the more your body will lose the fat and tone up. 

Cleaning up your diet and eating appropriate portions within a specific calorie range to lose weight will help you. Working out can raise your metabolism, increase your amount of lean muscle mass and help you maintain an overall healthier and leaner body. An example of some of the cardio exercises are; jogging, weight lifting, riding a bike, etc.  


  1. Schedule Dates to Make Meals


Lastly, eating healthy doesn’t have to be a chore. You can always invite friends or family to join your weight loss journey with you to give you more motivation. You both or all can motivate and push each other, having support is better when trying to achieve your goal.  

Look forward to the tasks that you need to do and see them as small steps to accomplishing your goals. Having the necessary positive outlook for your future will also give you a much better success rate for you losing weight transitioning into the new year!
