The Pixel 4A, Google’s next budget smartphone, is rumored to be coming out in only a few days! Google’s online store shows a small teaser with the phrase:
“The Google Just What You’ve Been Waiting For Phone.”
They also hinted at the fact that it would be revealed on August 3rd!
9to5Google initially spotted the page earlier this past week. Visitors can unlock the full message by tapping a variety of boxes until the colors match the colors of the Google Logo (Blue, Red, Yellow, Blue, Green, Red).
Some social media images have also seen updates from Google, one of which was a small, circular cutout, making an apparent reference to the hole display found on the Pixel 4A for selfie shots. Within the text on the Google page, there are some neat little photography references as well.
If you dig into the “lorem ipsum” text, you’ll see terms such as “bokehus,” lowlightena,” “megapixelum,” and more. One of the most reliable features of Google phones from the past was the camera. We’re expecting the camera to be reasonably strong on the Google Pixel 4A as well.
A Deeper Look Into the Pixel 4A
Rumors circulating say that the price will land somewhere around $349. This low price would be pretty incredible considering the fact that the iPhone SE sits around $399.
Smartphone lovers have been waiting all too long for a sequel since the introduction of the Pixel 3A last year. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Google was forced to cancel its I/O developer conference, where the company would have likely made the announcement for the Pixel 4A.
However, Google did accidentally post an image of the Pixel 4A to the online store. This little accident was one of the first hints letting tech lovers know that the Pixel 4A was on its way. Now, we have confirmation that the Google Pixel 4A could be less than one week from the true introduction.
We often get news of smartphone specs before they hit the market due to leaks. Some of the previous leaks tell us that the phone will be powered from a Qualcomm 730 chipset and will bear a 5.8″ OLED display. We expect to see at least 64GB of storage, 6GB of RAM, and a glorious 12-megapixel camera. We’re hoping that the camera can crank out similar results to that of the standard Pixel 4 phone.
The rear-facing camera will rely on the image processing abilities of Google, which have been pretty outstanding thus far.
Now for the ironic part, the 3080mAh battery for this phone is larger than the 2800mAh battery found on the standard Pixel 4 phone. It is rumored that Google will include a fast-charge 18W charging brick in the package too.
Now the real question is,
Will this iteration of the Google Pixel have what it takes to stand up to the do or die iPhone community?
It is only a matter of time until we find out!
Stick around for updates.
