R. Kelly has been under great scrutiny as of lately. Since the premiere of the Lifetime’s docuseries titled “Surviving R. Kelly” , the internet has been outraged by the docuseries that aired in the beginning of January. The public, along with fans have since been reacting to the allegations of sexual abuse made by the singer that have continued to happen over the years. R. Kelly isn’t just trending on social media, but to many’s surprise his streaming has since risen after the documentary’s premier.
According to the website The Blast, streams of R. Kelly’s music on Spotify has since increased by 16%. Although, Apple Music and YouTube have yet to release a copy of their streaming sales.
This is also may be a shock to many because last year Spotify temporarily pulled Kelly’ music from their promoted playlists due to their hateful content policy. But, this did nothing as the R&B singer’s music actually increased streams before Spotify decided to backtrack.
The public and celebrities have all reacted since the docuseries, and since the spike on such streaming services of R. Kelly’s music, Jada Pinkett Smith had this to say on social media about the surprise…
R. Kelly is now under Criminal Investigation in Georgia.
