The first Woodstock music festival was held in 1969. It was a legendary music festival that took place in the middle of a revolution during a tumultuous time in history. The memorable music festival brought in over 400,000 people to a muddy field in Bethel, New York. It focused the world’s attention on pop music and its powerful influence that could change a culture and movement.
It has now been 50 years since Woodstock and Michael Lang, who is one of the original producers of the event is now bringing the music festival back for its 50th Anniversary. The event is expected to run from Aug. 16 to 18 in 2019 in Watkins Glen, New York.
Tickets are said to go on sale in February, but prices have not yet been announced. Performers have not been named, but Lang has stated that over 40 artists have already been booked for 3stages. More to come about the artist lineup, size of the venues and prices as they are announced.
